"The colors of natural gemstones are the best complement to the natural beauty of people. My work is an attempt to present the innate beauty of both the gemstones and the wearer."

Adel Chefridi was born in the old city of Tunis, along the Mediterranean coast. He came to New York in 1998, where he founded his Studio, his work increasingly drawing from his multicultural background, resulting in an attempt to reconcile past and present, nostalgia and hope. His Designs emphasizes simplicity, wearability, durability, and openness to light and movement. Using natural gemstones, his pieces have a friendly and peaceful feel that make them wearable everyday.

Adel creates his pieces using natural gem stones, and solid precious metals. Models are made out of wax or resin, either according to exact measurements or completely free form, allowing spontaneous and at times chaotic shapes. Many pieces, however, are made directly by metal forming. Most pieces feature a gemstone or multiple stones in the design, and that involves stone setting techniques ranging from bead work to microsetting.

Adel studied Gemology in the most advanced Gem lab and school in the US, the Gemological Institute of America, where he graduated as a Graduate Gemologist (GG) and Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP). He then went on to intensive study of goldsmithing at Studio Jewelers and graduated as a Bench Jeweler. He also studied Computer Aided design (CAD) and took various other Jewelry making and wax modeling classes.
